    Trauma-Informed Essentials Pathway

A universal entry point for anyone beginning their journey. Covers the foundations of trauma-informed practice, from awareness and safeguarding through to supervision, leadership, and systems change.

Becoming trauma-informed is not a single day’s training — it’s a lifelong journey. The Essentials Pathway is designed as an accessible entry point for anyone beginning their journey, building a shared foundation across roles and sectors.

Who is it for? Anyone — from frontline staff and volunteers through to leaders, carers, and community members — looking for a broad introduction to trauma-informed practice.

What will you learn? Core principles of trauma-informed practice, including safeguarding, resilience, reflective practice, supervision, and leadership. You’ll build the skills and awareness that form the foundation for all other trauma-informed pathways.

Next steps: Start with awareness-level courses like Trauma-Informed Safeguarding or Trauma-Informed Mental Health Awareness. Then move into reflective practice, supervision, and leadership modules, or explore a sector- or theme-specific pathway once you’re confident with the essentials.
