Lisa has had an interest in the long term impact of trauma upon children and young adults for over three decades, focusing firstly as a practitioner, alongside her own recovery journey, then in her research and then moving into supporting and helping practitioners in their own work.
Having completed a Masters looking at the intersection between school exclusion and being a child in care, Lisa completed her Doctorate (DPhil) in January 2024 at the University of Oxford in the Department of Education within the
Rees Centre.The Rees Centre aims to improve policy and practice within child social care and education, producing research evidence aiming to better the life chances and, in particular, educational outcomes of those who are or have been, supported by children’s social care services.
