With over 25 years experience in mental health, Gemma Fieldsend is an author, mental health trainer, consultant, and supervisor working across education, children’s services, local authorities, social care, and the NHS. She delivers training, consultancy, and reflective supervision to support professionals and teams in navigating the emotional and ethical demands of their work, with a particular focus on psychological safety and trauma-informed practice.
Gemma regularly works with senior leaders across multiple systems and organisations and has previously delivered on the DfE Senior Mental Health Lead programme. Drawing on her background in NHS clinical and leadership roles, she brings a grounded, real-world understanding of system pressures and staff wellbeing. Her work centres on supporting reflection, protecting compassion under pressure, and helping organisations develop sustainable ways of working in emotionally demanding roles.
