Jessica is a qualified teacher with a dual background in Psychology and Education, currently undertaking a PhD in Psychological Medicine at King’s College London. Her academic research focuses on the intersection of trauma, mental health, and education, aiming to inform policy and practice across both sectors.
Before moving into academic research and consultancy, Jessica spent many years working in mainstream and alternative education settings, holding a range of pastoral and senior leadership roles. This frontline experience continues to shape her practical, compassionate approach to supporting young people and professionals in complex educational environments.
Jessica has developed, delivered, and led a range of impactful mental health programmes across schools, health services, and national organisations. Her work includes contributing to strategic initiatives commissioned by the Department for Education and the Department of Health and Social Care, with a focus on trauma-informed practice, mental health literacy, and workforce development.
Formerly, Jessica was a School Engagement Trainer at the Anna Freud Centre, where she supported professionals, caregivers, and young people in embedding psychologically-informed approaches. As Education Director at Creative Education, she led the creation of bespoke training on topics including anxiety, self-harm, resilience, and whole-school mental health strategies.
Bringing together academic insight, clinical understanding, and frontline educational experience, Jessica’s work bridges research, policy, and practice. She is dedicated to improving mental health outcomes through evidence-based, inclusive, and sustainable approaches.
